Anne Kolbe

Anne Kolbe (1989, Zwijndrecht, NL) works with performance, sculpture, installation, sound, and other speculative forms to explore relations between bodies, human and non-human life forms, materials, and environments. She reconfigures everyday materials and vegetal presences into situations where familiarity slips and relations remain strange.

Anne Kolbe graduated from the Fine Art program at Sint Joost ’s-Hertogenbosch and the Master of Fine Art at the Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam. She holds a bachelor in education and has a background in language and literature. Her practice is currently supported by the Mondriaan Fund. She is teaching at St. Joost School of Art & Design in ‘s-Hertogenbosch/Breda and at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam.
