“Blocks Blocks Blocks” was a solo presentation at Hotel Maria Kapel in 2015 (Hoorn, NL). The installation took the block – an archetypical form which underlies spatiality and architecture – as a basis thread: a block that obscures, interrupts, and supports, as both barrier and building tool. What happens when that form becomes method? During the residency prior to the show, a monstera pot plant was the sole living witness in the guest studio. This house plant became the block’s antagonist in a video work. They started talking about perception and so on.. all day long, until it got dark and they could see no more.
